SERF | About Us

SERF 2018, Southern Electronics and Radio Fair (Eastbourne Amateur Radio Rally).

Located right next to the popular rolling hills of the South Downs National Park’s landscapes, the excellent spacious venue for SERF 2018 is the Eastbourne Sports Park.

The Sports Park contains a recently built 1800 meters square hanger style sports hall with diffused roof panels for good lighting, complete with easy access, full disabled facilities, adjacent free parking and shower facilities for those wishing to stay overnight.

Extending outside, the spacious venue grounds provides a range of hard and soft standing surfaces which we will continue to use for SERF 2018, and can easily expand further as our event grows.   A number of SERF photographs are provided in our Gallery.

After a couple of years evaluating feedback on suitable opening days, SERF has settled on a Sunday event. SERF 2018 will be on Sunday 6th of May. With our traditional camping and caravanning on-site, this allows for a traders, exhibitors and visitors to come down, relax and stay Saturday night, should they wish too.

The Main Hall has easy trader and exhibitor access on two sides, with ability to bring vehicles up close to the doors, allowing the setup/build to take place the night before the rally, then be securely locked and alarmed, already for a relaxing start, after breakfast, on the opening day.

Complementing the Main Exhibitor Hall, SERF 2018 includes a large adjacent Car Boot / Table Top area which is the North field.

The Sports Park running track secure area is will be used for those Campers, Motorhomes and Caravanners, wishing to stay overnight. The hard standing within this area will also be used for Catering and Exhibitors with Demo Vehicles.

With direct road and easy access, plentiful space, full disabled facilities and ideal location for weekend break, the Eastbourne Sports Park is also close to the main bus (Eastbourne Hospital), and train routes (walking distance from Hampden Park Railway Station). Full details on how to get to us is provided here.

Our talk-in and Special Event Station (callsign of GB6SRF), will be operating (bring copy of licence if you wish to also operate), together with various indoor and outdoor events complete with full catering and refreshments, so is very much planned to be a wonderful family and friendly atmosphere

In keeping with our previous events, the SERF Team would like all Exhibitors, Traders and Visitors to equally have a great and memorable weekend.

We look forward to seeing you at SERF 2018 and remember, you are able to book your space now.

Should you have any questions or queries, please feel free to contact us.

Dave Williams, G8PUO
and the SERF Team.
